Household hints and tips

1) Use an old knee high stocking on the pipe from your washing machine to the stationary tub to collect lint. Tie it off with a twisty tie or zip tie. Easy to change out and great to recycle!

2) Use old stockings cut in strips to tie up your tomato plants and newly planted vines.

3) Every month, run a cycle of bleach water through your washing machine to help keep it clean and sanitary. Do not run your clothes through when you do this!

4) Put a layer of aluminum foil UNDER the cover on your ironing board. This will double the duty and allow your clothes to be heated from both sides, cutting your ironing in half!

5) Clean the microwave; Put 2 cups of water in a microwavable dish or glass measuring cup. Microwave until boiling (approx 3-5 minutes... adjust for your microwave wattage). After it's finished boiling, leave the microwave closed for another 3-5 minutes to allow the steam to soften the dirt/food in your microwave. Open the door and wipe! Easy!
